Jennifer grew up in Calgary, Alberta, where she completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma program at Henry Wise Wood High School. She was the Co-President of her high school student council, and played a range of sports from badminton to cross country running. After high school, Jennifer attended McGill University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology. During this time, she was involved with local charities, student government and peer tutoring.
Soon after, she began a Master of Science degree at the University of Alberta in Pharmacology. Her graduate studies involved studying the effects of statins on Rab protein prenylation in the retina under the supervision of Dr Elena Posse de Chaves and Dr Ian MacDonald. She served as Secretary of her department student government.
Currently, Jennifer is a medical student at the University of British Columbia, in the Vancouver-Fraser Medical Program. She continues to pursue her interests in teaching, running and cooking from a diversity of cuisines around the world.
